The display is an LED, not and LCD
1:19 … an LCD .. single number
2:40 … our little LCD number display
5:03 A shift register is not an H-bridge, review the contents instead of adding off the wall comments
7:06 there are multiple buttons/switches but you say "ah" suggesting only one.
In the amazon link to the kit, the 2nd thumbnail image reveals 3 buttons,
but the 7th thumbnail image reveals the component list has only 2 buttons

Hey Jimmy! After watching many of your videos this is actually how I got started into Arduino! I went on to Amazon and purchased an Arduino starter kit. Not exactly the same as you have but it contained almost the same thing anyway. What's great about kits just like mine and yours is that they come with tutorial lessons for each and every components included! Since you can always flash the arduino with new code, you can go through these tutorials very quickly and learn a lot! Thanks to that I now understand a lot about the core foundations of programming and electronics. For anyone interested in doing one of DIY & Digital's projects, I really recommend a kit like one of these. Arduino boards are open source so any Arduino board brand will be the same as a genuine arduino regarding the components and fabrication.
