Parity bit explanation is incorrect.
If you have odd parity selected and your data sent only has two 1's as in your example, your parity will go high to make an odd number of 1's in your packet.
If your sent data had three 1's your parity bit would go low to still ensure an odd number of 1's in the sent packet.
Even parity selected would mean your data having two 1's so your parity goes low to keep an even number of 1's in your packet.
And if you had three 1's in your data your parity bit would go high to keep an even number of 1's in your sent packet.

I took 2 months to learn Modbus protocol and use a microprocessor to extract information from an energy meter with modbus. Worst time of my life.
RS-422 is an electrical interface standard for serial communications, and not a protocol.

Just a note. The description of the parity bit is inaccurate. The parity bit is set to a value to ensure the agreed-upon parity standard. For even parity, the parity bit is turned on if there is an odd number of 1's in the data. If there are an even number of 1 bits already in the data then the parity bit is set to 0.
