Pengaplikasian kontroler PID harus menggunakan mikrokontroler beserta perangkat-perangkat pendukungnya. Salah satu mikrokontroler yang banyak digunakan adalah Arduino UNO. Oleh karena itu untuk membuktikan sistem kontrol PID ini maka perlu dibuat sebuah prototipe dimana dapat mengaplikasikan sistem kontrol PID sederhana dalam mengatur set nilai jarak dengan mengunakan sensor ultrasonik sebagai sinyal input dan motor DC sebagai sinyal output (aktuator).
