I work as electrician and metal work, everything are measures and follow by ruler and measuring tape , using inch or centimeter, even a round metal tube or pipe for stair hand rail or metal gate measure in inch or centimeter. But yes, in electrician, wire also have it own measurement like 10 AWG (2.5mm), 11 AWG (2.3mm )12 AWG (2.0mm) , 13 AWG (1.8mm) or (American wire guage).
Why the hell 1" inch (25mm) PVC pipe messure like 1.5" inch or 37 mm, and is not 1" inch or 2.5 cm (25 mm) or 8/8", 16/16", 32/32", 64/64" whatever you call. Even a 3/4" inch PVC pipe is not 3/4" inch and appear to be 1" inch at all I just don't get it who created this confusing shit NPS, NB, DN and still called and "inch", why don't call it other name?
