In this application exercise we’ll take a brief look at the TECO SG2 10HRA Programmable Logic Relay (PLR), just one of the many different types of small, basic programmable logic controllers (PLCs) commercially available. We’ll familiarize ourselves with the layout and specifications of a TECO SG2 10HRA PLR and learn to navigate the menu and program it using the dedicated buttons, the confusing proprietary key strokes and the ridiculously small LCD screen. Additionally, we’ll learn to monitor the status of both inputs and outputs using the home screen as well as monitor functionality of an operational program using the LADDER screen while in RUN mode.
