Robot X – Walking SCi-Fi Humanoid Robot PART 2: Working my way up the legs and hips to get the main mechanical fabrication built using 3D printed parts and Aluminium 2020 extrusion. The electronics will be Arduino based.

jaaaaaaaaaaaaaames
Could you please dress in up like K-2SO from Rogue One some time, i think it would be really cool :p
I'm really happy with this build
Yeah, I think you're going to need more powerful motors. 😀
Could you do a video on lipo battery storage at some point?, there's so much contradictory stuff on the internet about it, it would be good to get your advice
can you do a transforming G1 megatron =)
You should tinker with putting the threads right into the plastic rather than rely on the nut. If that doesn't work, they do make inserts that are longer than the lead screw nuts you have.
Holy crap, dude. You've really reached a new level with these builds. Really great stuff, James.
Considered making the leap to something like ROS, and doing real pose estimations instead of simple wave based gaits?
James this is awesome, you've helped me a lot on my own projects by giving so much information and how to
I think it would be really interesting to employ an evolutionary algorithm to a virtual model of your robots, to develop the best gaits for different situations and maneuvers. (Walking fast, walking slow, turning in place, turning while walking, etc.) Although, using such a program may be slightly outside of your expertise.
I hope you make a C3PO with that later!!
why didn't use linear actuator?
T-600 terminator would look great.
Have you seen the bad news about 123D Design & the rest of the 123D apps?, basically Autodesk is stopping developing them & turning off the cloud part, plus they warn they may drop features etc. without notice after I think it said March. Sorry to be a barer of bad news, It may be time to move to a new cad package, Fusion 360?
its clearly ethan from Infinite warfare
It seems like the hips should be the other way 'round with the triangle base in back. Which looks somewhat like a butt and would give a balance to a later torso.
A really clever idea with the drills-never would have thought of that…
i will always remember you as the guy that makes robots spread there legs
Where did you get your awesomeness?
A spine with 3 strings around it would be cool, so it can bend in all directions!
is there a reward for being a demigod cause you need a million of them you have no limits
I'm glad you are doing more robotics, possibly your best project yet… 👍
Man, the leg is looking very cool!
Something about this appeals to me on a deep level
It just looks good
how much did all of part one cost.
What about aluminum legs
looks like something you would build…https://www.facebook.com/electrical.electronics.engineering1/videos/1573953605965014/
5:42 lol penis
the software will be dificult to drive correctly all actuators you will need gyros and sensors unders each feets
Can you please do a predators power armour and weapons
I get the feeling this won't only be for youtube soon, I see someone like star wars hiring you, they could have used this on K2SO
why doesn't he have more views
Can we download the CAD files
Once someone invents a device that can behave exactly like a muscle (with the same agility and strength to size ratio), robotics will move forward exponentially.
Here's a quick question: Why not use a hinge to twist the leg instead of attaching the leg directly to a motor? You know, a good, solid doorhinge at the back, and a horizontal motor at the front similar to how the foot actuators are but only on one axis. Would that spread the load around as opposed to having it right on the motor? Or would that be too complicated and not as strong?
Whats the tolerance in metric between the metal tube and the collar? I have been working on a project and am having difficultly determining the best fitting tolerances!
What if you used something similar to a Lazy Suzan for the rotation axis? It would provide a very rigid rotation due to the weight distribution being around the outside of the two plates on the ball bearings.
Why dont you use spherical joint bearings on the rod ends to kill the wobbling?
hello james i folliw your legs and i find interested but i don t understand you build a articulation for hips and after you fix hips by screw and i don t understand why?? thank you

i don't have a 3d printer do you think i can find similar pieces ?
Where do you buy the Aluminum profile? Please, I need 'em for a my project 😀
Also if anyone else know where can I order them: Please, Help me
What is your 3d printer name??
What is your academic background? And what is your profession? Tell us please
Very nice. About the structural parts. You design and machining or buy ?
It's so brilliant that I'm going to copy and paste this message on to comments for this whole series.
16 dislikes makes me wonder … how can people dislike such projects you're doing?
