when i record on my mic the microphone is really sensitive. if i go right up to the popper stopper and speak it makes my audio super loud and clips it. i am an idiot and have been trying to figure it out how to lower it so i dont have to be 3 feet away from the mic to record.

This method Is good in a song with a backtrack loudy and rich of instruments but when you sing in a song with few instruments and very smooth and intimate vocals parts is not applicable, you have to clean the background noise with a tool that read the noise profile and automatically puts in the track the same noise profile with inverted phase (Audacity has a nice noise removing tool) this catches a lot of the background noise naturally and the track become clean and ready to play
