Hey Leah, this video is exactly what I needed. Thanks for taking the time to make it. What kind of oil are you using on the couplers, inlets, and tools? Is it just a normal car engine oil?
You are a truly gifted instructor. Best video ever on this topic.
Thanks Leah, I bought a used compressor few years back at a local flee market and used it to fill tires and as compressed air for cleaning. I'm planning on buying a Brad Nailer soon and thought it would be good to check the line pressure(until this video I thought the extra gauge was because the compressor is a dual tank, gauge for each tank:) Anyway the line pressure was 110 so I dialed it back to 85/90. I will also add a line filter before using the brad nailer. thank again for informative video.
you're a wonderful, thorough and patient teacher. Thank you! 🙂
Really awesome video. Thank you so much! Of all the tools I've purchased, this is definitely the most intimidating. Stupid fittings! xD
Thank you Leah.
Thanks for all the info on the gauges. Takes the mystery out of it, and now confident I wont blow myself up!!
Very clear and helpful explanation.
Can I use an 8 gal compressor for air tools too?
Is it okay to put the water/dirt trap right off the compressor like that or should it be spaced a few feet off so the air can cool first?
Great video….very clear! Question: can I use the compressor when it is recharging? Let's say after using it for a while, the tank PSI drops from 125 max to 70 and therefore, starts recharging. I guess I have to wait until it charges back to 125 and stops, correct? Thanks!
You're a treasure, Leah!
Great video, terrific presentation and terrific teaching voice.
Yeah I bought a filter for my compressor and was wondering why it wasn’t fitting into my plug now I know I need a female/male adapter.
Clear and concise a great start-up video.
Great video. Well detailed and it will help anyone who has limited or no experience using air tools with an air compressor. Thanks.
FYI PTFE tape doesn't actually seal. it acts as a lubricator to allow a tighter fit.
She is a true teacher. Omg video is great!
Thank you so much for the walk through, i mainly work on computers and had no idea alot goes into preping before use.
I am in Industrial Piping construction but am not exposed to many air compressors in my line of work……however, you have taught me loads with this video !!! Keep em comin and THANKS for the continued education !!! Love Ya !!!

Big thank
What kind of oil can/should you use ? BTW…Love your voice, demeanor, pace, and name (my mom's name) ! God bless !
Thank you for your kind help.
Getting a quiet compressor is a good idea. I'm no salesman for California Air Tools but they make a great compressor that's super quiet and if you get an aluminum tank it's much lighter as well.
lots of repect and pleasure from how you express yourself and explain to details what is important. love your cool
videos. kudos !
Thank you Leah! You have answered all of those questions that I had!! I have been given a compressor by a friend and now I want to get some tools for it.
Thanks this was really good!
You are awesome! You remind me of my mom. Keep up these videos.
Awesome Air Compressor 101 – So detailed. Thank you.
Awesome video!
Question
What is the Most common hose size used on a air Compressor 1/2 or 3/8, just confuse cause they have 3/8 impact wrench and 1/2 impact
Because my compressor has been a good, long lasting little soldier, It's been years since I had to remember all of this. Now I'm upgrading. I couldn't have picked a better refresher course than this. You are GOOOOOOD! A perfect educator.
