Ah well, in Europe he's definitely clinically obese. You only really need a bit of a belly to be considered obese.
how big is the gut brain?
I'm muslim. Where can I find that in the Quran?
As soon as he said evolution and that cooked food made us what we are..
I have tried the raw food diet. I was raised vegan. I realized now that one of the reasons my nervous and digestive systems were out of wack was because my body was having trouble digesting. So I looked into ayurvedic medicine and found my body constitution and appropriate diet which is: Cooked, warm and mushy food. I feel a lot more grounded and peaceful. Of course I still eat raw food, but not as much, and always in combination with cooked. Every body has it's own constitution and needs.
he is fat
he's fat
I can not believe this guy, who, with his self-admitted belly, that , forgive me my judgmental view, came to "open our eyes' on this old and out of time idea about cooked food. Of cause, it is strange and appalling to me as a Raw Chef, who lives off 70% of raw vegan diet. Even, though, it might not be for everyone, Everyone still admit that Raw feels better in their body. Raw creates health. The only complain for Raw, some think it is not delicious. But it is 😉 .
why are there some thumbs down? this guy is brilliant.
try to search the video called: 72 year old vegan
or 72 Year-Old Man Raw Vegan Body Building Every Day (now 75 Year-Young :))
this man's accent makes me inexplicably happy
We had a woman way over 300 lbs teaching us nutrition at school – laughable. I'd say it's pure performative contradiction.
Anyways – this guy says that satiation mechanism will be restored by some mambo jumbo of tuning up signals, BS. You just have to stop blocking it with fructose. It is not a food, it is an addictive drug and should be treated like liquor. Ditching fructose completely gives you marvelous choking of hunger when you need it.
Hoebel sugar
Lusting bitter truth
Dont get me wrong – all the stuff about second brain is very exciting.
And mind you that Lusting is overweight also, but he's a statist so he's down with cognitive dissonance, nevertheless he provides some crucial insights that semm to be confirmed by practice – like a complete restoration of satiation mechanism I enjoy.
1:01 bottom left guy has fabulous teeth

We humans became who we are today because we ate protein (Meat). We as a human race wouldn't have survived on a paleo diet! This guy no doubt had to eat a purée diet!!
He makes some interesting assumptions and arrives at fascinating conclusions drawn from scientific discoveries and observations. How much validity they have is, of course, another quetion.
Cooked food = POISON.
All dislikes are from vegetarians lmao.
We are in fact frugivorous.
NO INFO JUST KEEPS REAPETING THE WORD COOKING
thank you
I have a gut feeling that researching our guts will lead to pretty impressive discoveries.
COCKtivore hehe…
* Goes through the 2 minutes intro in incomprehensible English *
Speaker : "Our teeth were made for cooked foods"
* Clicks out. * –___–

I google'd "neanderthal skull" and suddenly became very sceptic to the idea of our teeth developing cus of cooked food. Then again, his second brain does seem to be rather large..
changed my whole deal on health, thanks!
Since our teeth evolved before our brain and LONG before our ability to use fire, his whole argument is bullshit.
Humans are simply a bag and a brain. The mechanics of eating is done by bacteria. You eventually are what you ate. Change the food, change the bacteria, change the bag and brain. It's why anyone who ever desired to effect massive and rapid change in people taught them to fast. The quicker to eliminate the old bacteria and replace it with the new and, thus, produce the change.
"Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved." Matthew 9:17
"easily digestible – sounds like fast food"
The shape his body is in tells you everything about his credibility when it comes to what food is right for humans lol
And yes, our teeth are made for "soft and mushy" foods.
Because that's how ripe >fruits< mostly are.
What utter horsedump.
Only cooked food is not enough . We need both, cooked and raw vegetables , fruits and nuts. Moderation.
Try Chlorella it works wonders!!! Sun Chlorella A
One question on this that has been told: "cooking led to big brain" and then"big brain invented cooking"
So again we have the chicken or the egg!
Excellent talk from Cousin Heribert, one of the world's leading nutritionists/food scientists! Not only is he a relative, of whom the family is very proud, he is also my Doppelganger look-alike (when I wear a beard, which I often do!)
Look at this guy's body. Now, do you believe he knows about nutrition?
Looking for an educated answer for a question, please no highly speculative wishful thinking.
If the Microbiota is so important to our immunity, mental health/mood, nutrient absorption, metabolism etc. and the vast majority of the microflora reside in the large intestine, why is it that people who have had their large intestine completely removed are able to live nearly normal lives enjoying many foods, not needing to live in germ free bubbles? Also note that they don't suddenly develope mental disabilities or other disease states attributed to poor gut flora??
I ask this because I have a personal interest in the topic as my health is at risk.
Thank you in advance to all.
just because this guy is on TED Talks doesn't make him right. After all the proof is in the pudding. the first thing I thought when I looked at him is, he's really out of shape and doesn't look as healthy as somebody should who's talking about this subject. personally David Wolfe or dr. Schultz people who are probably this guy's age like Gabriel cousens he's probably his age or older looks far better and he eats mostly a raw food diet and you can release nutrients in raw foods especially when you juice them! look at Peter Rainer. probably the same age as this man.
Through the proliferation of GMO's – at current rate, may have not only compromised, but completely and most assuredly are destroying mankind's potential towards maintaining good health and as a whole, the the entire balance of planet that is facing the eventuality of chaos then destruction in the natural order of the vegetative/plant to entire biological kingdom. This "bull in the china shop" topic was not mentioned if we are to expect a normal functioning gut/GI system hence a normal stable human body.
So true… and some people have their brain even lower !
this is really very informative. And I believe so too. A lot of doctors have not been very educated about leaky gut which led them to wrongly diagnose patients and in turn make life pretty miserable to patients, but the gut is something that people don't know and only give little information which make people who are really sensitive live a zombified life because they cannot even assimilate glucose for the brain use –>> hence cannot remember, cannot focus, cannot this and that (ADHD), brain fog, CFS.
There's so much to study about it so that the minority who are sensitive can lead a normal life, i think that's more important if not they really will live a very miserable life.
I think it should be "cooked-tivor" , not "coctivor",… cause … that second one sounds like…. mmm well … you know what….
Never trust a fat nutritionist. Always trust a plump chef, though!
Fermentation not cooking.
Wow! What a bunch of self righteous haters in these comments.
