Hey there everybody! This is a cute little filter we found to go into the 5.5 gallon fish tank we have in the house. I still can’t decide if I want to deal with breeding the goldfish this year or just let nature take its course. Well, at least if I do give it a try I’ll have a filter running that should kill too many of the fry! I guess time will tell … For now, here is a look at the minnows and a couple of corys. The mountain shrimp is in there but it tends to hide in the bottom of the pump where all of the ‘good stuff’ flows. Whatever works!

Every time you say "fish fry" I'm thinking "lunch." Down here in the Southeast of America, we occasionally attend fish fries, which are just excuses to get together with others and eat deep-fried fish. A great idea to provide both aeration and maybe extra filtration. Too bad about your auto cat (is what you call it?) and I wonder if the other fish might have eaten it. Keep up the great and informative videos. I enjoy watching them and you provide me with inspiration to create my own videos.
Your oto cat sounds like the pleco that I had. Lose sight of him once and then you can't find them!! lol
At least I have a clue what happened to mine, I guess they don't like cold temps. whoops!
What kind of lighting do you use for your indoor set up? I tried out the aquafarm commercial aquaponics set up last year with no luck. I couldn't even grow wheat grass. I have decided to give it another go this year but I want to give it the best chance of success so instead of placing it in the window I will use lights. I am also making some changes to the system. I will extend the air lift closer to the bottom of the tank so it will possibly pick up some solids and I plan to add more media for the bio filter.
Had this all set up and could not figure out why it wasn't working… watched your video and immediately realised what an idiot I am… I had forgotten to open the control valve up…. hahaha Thanks for the vid! Thumbs up from me for sure! lol

Don't forget to remove carbon completely or replace the carbon for a new one, if not carbon can actually go against you and the purposes that it's used for. I never use carbon
What if when you have to replace the carbon? Do you need to buy a completely new package?
I can't not wait to get one next month for my 2 gallon glass drum bawl I got rosy red minnows in it now!

This filter for small fish tank or supply more oxygen is OK. If you expect large amount filteration water, its not working.
